Tesamorelin

Tesamorelin is a stabilized analogue of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) designed to stimulate the pituitary growth-hormone axis. It is used in research examining pulsatile growth-hormone release, downstream insulin-like growth factor-1 signaling, body-composition pathways, lipid metabolism and endocrine feedback mechanisms. Compared with native GHRH, structural modification improves resistance to enzymatic degradation, making tesamorelin useful for duration-of-action and pharmacodynamic studies. Laboratory applications may include receptor-response assays, pituitary-cell signaling, GH and IGF-1 biomarker measurement, and comparisons with other GHRH analogues or growth-hormone secretagogues.
