Kisspeptin is a neuropeptide ligand for the KISS1 receptor, also known as GPR54. It is a key research tool for studying the upstream control of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone within the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis. Experimental work uses kisspeptin to investigate puberty signaling, fertility biology, steroid feedback, metabolic inputs to reproduction and neuroendocrine receptor pathways. Applications may include receptor-activation assays, hormone-release studies, neuronal models and reproductive biomarker analysis. Different kisspeptin fragments and analogues can vary in sequence, potency and stability, so the exact form supplied should be confirmed through the product specification and Certificate of Analysis.
